Through the utilization of a chemical solvent;

Then load the mat into your cricut machine by pressing the flashing load/unload button. Repeat the weeding process for each sheet of vinyl that you have cut for your shirt and then we’ll be ready to heat press the shirt.

A heat press will also work. Remove the plastic film covering from your cricut mat. Measure your vinyl and cut off a piece that is 12″ x 12″ long.

I have a decal on a mug or a bottle and i want to switch it up. Home irons are not recommended because they don’t get hot enough and they heat unevenly. Ring out the shirt and wash it in the washing machine alone (or with other shirts that were bleached if you do more than one) add soap and another cap full of peroxide.

Then put the whole shirt in cold water with a cap full of peroxide in it. Start pulling your shirt to loosen up the vinyl until you are able to pull it up off the shirt. This will help “loosen” up the vinyl before you put on the solvent.

Once your shirt is ready to be ironed, plug in your iron and determine which level of heat is preferable to you. I get my vinyl from heat transfer warehouse. When the cut is complete, press the load/unload button to unload the mat from the machine.

Make sure to check out my shirt tutorials from the links below, including making a shirt with your cricut layering vinyl on a shirt multi colored layered vinyl on a shirt print than cut image on a shirt all htv/iron on vinyl projects. I’m using my cricut easy press to press my shirt. Here’s a few ways to remove vinyl and htv depending on your situation:

Spread out the piece of vinyl that you just cut over the cricut adhesive mat. Use the brayer tool to. But also, permanent adhesive vinyl has a higher tact than removable.

Flip your shirt the right side out. Heat transfer vinyl or htv requires heat and pressure to adhere to a surface. Let it sit for about 30 seconds.

Press the flashing go button on your machine to start the cut. Stick a piece of vinyl to your cutting mat, making sure the paper backing side is down. Once it is wet you can take out the barrier and remove the vinyl.

Removing vinyl decals with a blow dryer. Set the smart dial on your machine to vinyl (or if you have an older machine without a smart dial, check out cricut’s cut settings guide for vinyl). Weed away the background heat transfer vinyl, using a weeding hook.

Remove htv with an embossing gun. The vinyl should be lifting so lift it off or rub on the shirt while it rubs off. Through the application of direct heat and steam;

It will lift up on your tool, you can then grab it and peel the vinyl. Flip your shirt inside out. When it comes to mugs, permanent is always the best way to go because it can withstand washing (dishwashing or washing by hand).

Place a wax paper over your shirt, so a hot iron can melt away the vinyl easily. You’ll want to take your tool and grab one of the edges of the part that won’t be transferred to your shirt and remove that vinyl. It is not likely to stick in the areas treated with goo gone.

Place something under your shirt. This is probably the most common situation i encounter. Also, can you use permanent vinyl on shirts?

That's because vinyl off is engineered to remove the vinyl and adhesive in one step. Vinyl off is a liquid vinyl remover, spray on, wait 5 to 15 minutes, then peel off. Ideal for…mugs, ceramics, glass, heat proof items.

Remove the excess vinyl around the cut area, taking care of not removing designs that are inside of cut lines. You may have noticed that we didn't mention vinyl off above as an adhesive remover. When your cricut is finished cutting your design, unload the mat with the cut vinyl by pressing the unload button on your cricut.

Turn your shirt inside out and pull on the fabric a bit. Remember, the iron has to be hot enough to melt the print but not so hot that your shirt will suffer damages. Apply the vlr liquid where the iron on is placed.
