How to remove vinyl from shirt cricut. Remove the vinyl sheet from the mat and peel away the excess vinyl from your design. Then load the mat into your cricut machine by pressing the flashing load/unload button. Repeat the weeding process for each sheet of vinyl that you have cut for your shirt and then we’ll be ready to heat press the shirt.

A heat press will also work. Remove the plastic film covering from your cricut mat. Measure your vinyl and cut off a piece that is 12″ x 12″ long.

I have a decal on a mug or a bottle and i want to switch it up. Home irons are not recommended because they don’t get hot enough and they heat unevenly. Ring out the shirt and wash it in the washing machine alone (or with other shirts that were bleached if you do more than one) add soap and another cap full of peroxide.

Place a wax paper over your shirt, so a hot iron can melt away the vinyl easily. You’ll want to take your tool and grab one of the edges of the part that won’t be transferred to your shirt and remove that vinyl. It is not likely to stick in the areas treated with goo gone.

Remove the excess vinyl around the cut area, taking care of not removing designs that are inside of cut lines. You may have noticed that we didn't mention vinyl off above as an adhesive remover. When your cricut is finished cutting your design, unload the mat with the cut vinyl by pressing the unload button on your cricut.
